Public Hearing on ACA Protections - Mar. 1

On Thursday, March 1, the Insurance and Real Estate Committee of the CT Legislature is holding a public hearing on HB 5210, An Act Mandating Insurance Coverage of Essential Health Benefits and Expanding Mandated Health Benefits for Women, Children and Adolescents. 

This is a chance to demonstrate your commitment to protecting CT health care consumers by putting protections currently available through federal law into Connecticut law. You can show your support by sending written comments to the Committee before Thursday, testifying at the hearing on Thursday or contacting your legislators to tell them that you support the bill. The hearing starts at 12:00 in Room 2D of the Legislative Office Building. The first hour of testimony is reserved for public officials. Sign up for testifying takes place at 10 am at the LOB. Sign-up for the hearing will begin 10:00 A.M. in Room 2800 of the LOB.  Please submit 25 copies of written testimony to the Committee staff 10:00 A.M. in Room 2800 of the LOB.  Please email written testimony in Word or PDF format to  Testimony should clearly state testifier name and related Bills.  Speakers will be limited to three minutes of testimony.  Bills will be heard in the order listed in the Bulletin. All public hearing testimony, written and spoken, is public information.  As such, it will be made available on the CGA website and indexed by internet search engines.
