HUSKY and Public Health Care Options at the Legislature This Week

Two important public hearings on health care issues this week:

Tuesday, March 5 - Public hearing on the Department of Social Services budget, which includes Medicaid/HUSKY, begins at 4:30 pm. Details on signing up to testify and submitting testimony below. Medicaid advocates suggest describing how important Medicaid is and urging that the legislature adopt the Governor’s budge proposals which preserve Medicaid in Connecticut.

Thursday, March 7 - Public health care options for Connecticut. Public hearing on HB 7267, An Act Concerning Public Options for Health Care in Connecticut and related activities. Details on signing up to testify and submitting testimony below. Talking points on HB 7267 here. Join us between 10:00 and 2:30 at the LOB to demonstrate the importance of quality, affordable health care options for small businesses, non-profit organizations and people buying on the private market. We will have information about activities in the 2nd Floor atrium (outside the Human Services Committee offices).

10:30 - Press conference on Public Health Care Option - Room 2D
11:00 - Visibility actions in the LOB, outside the hearing room
12:00 - Public hearing - Room 2D. First hour reserved for public officials
