The Appropriations and Finance Revenue and Bonding Committees failed to propose a revised budget for 2018-19 by their deadlines at the end of last week. They are now aiming to have a proposal by April 20. This gives us more time to contact legislators about restoring income eligibility for parents covered by HUSKY A to 155% of the federal poverty level. CT Voices for Children has provided information on the number of parents affected by the reduction in eligibility in each town. Find information for all towns here.
The Medicaid Strategy Group is asking people to contact their legislators and to write letters to the editor. Fact sheet here. Of particular importance, legislators from towns with the largest numbers of affected parents (Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Hartford, Waterbury, New Haven, New Britain, Stamford, Danbury, Norwalk, Meriden, East Hartford, Bristol, Manchester, West Haven, Norwich, Torrington, Stratford, New London, Hamden, Middletown and Naugatuck.)
