Make 3 Calls this Week!

Posted 7/12/2017

It's crunch time again! A new Senate bill to repeal and replace the ACA will be out tomorrow. CBO score of its impact is expected on Monday with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promising a vote on the bill next week. If the Senate approves a bill, it will be sent immediately to the House of Representatives for a vote.

There will be changes from the previous Senate bill - but all the changes that are being discussed are cosmetic tweaks. See this analysis by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities demonstrating that the bill can't be fixed.

The CBO score of the new bill is likely to show fewer uninsured - but only because some of the expected changes would delay the end of the Medicaid expansion. The delay would mean that some people lose Medicaid outside the ten year timeframe that the CBO looks at in determining its scoring.

  • Thank themfor their strong opposition to efforts to repeal the ACA and undermine Medicaid.
  • Encourage them to continue to oppose the Republican bill.
  • Share a story about the impact of the ACA and Medicaid on you or someone you know.
