Open Enrollment for health insurance through Access Health CT (AHCT) ends DECEMBER 22. This is one week after open enrollment on the federal exchange. Don't be confused by the deadline in other states. IN CONNECTICUT, YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR HEALTH INSURANCE THROUGH AHCT UNTIL DECEMBER 22. (Read below to see if you can enroll after December 22.)

You can enroll after December 22 if:
- You are losing Medicaid coverage on January 1 because of the new income eligibility levels (this applies to parents in the HUSKY A program who are losing coverage. In this case, you are eligible for a "Special Enrollment Period", which starts on January 1 and runs for 60 days.
- You qualify for Medicaid or CHIP. You can apply for Medicaid or CHIP at any time.
- You are eligible for a Special Enrollment Period for some other reason. Special Enrollment Periods are available to people who have significant economic or life changes, such as getting married or divorced, losing a job, losing health insurance coverage, having a child, or moving from another state into Connecticut.
