Jacob Hacker, Kevin Lembo Lead Summit Plenary

The October 14 Health Care Action Summit will kick off with a plenary session that discusses the state of play in health care reform at the national and state levels. The plenary session will feature:

  • Jacob Hacker, Director of the Institution for Social and Policy Studies at Yale University and an expert on the politics of U.S. health and social policy
  • Kevin Lembo, Comptroller of the State of Connecticut, administrator of the state public employees health plan and, previously, the state's Healthcare Advocate
  • Tekisha Everette, Executive Director of Health Equity Solutions, with a long history of work in health care policy in organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, the Service Employees International Union and the state of Maryland
  • Tim Foley, Director of the Service Employees International Union Connecticut State Council, and, previously, Political Director for the Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU Healthcare and a leader in the Metro New York Health Care for All Campaign
  • Frances Padilla, President of the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut, and a member of the state's Health Care Cabinet and Health Innovation Steering Committee
